Go Wild Gorilla Initiative

TrustFord are delighted to be supporting the Go Wild Gorilla Initative not only promoting local artists but more importantly helping to raise money for a new home for Jersey Zoo’s much loved gorilla family.

The countdown is now on to see the Gorilla’s go wild!! With 40 life-size gorilla sculptures being exhibitied across Jersey from 27th July until 14th October.

Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the TrustFord Gorilla when following the gorilla trail across the island.

Durrell are working in partnership with Wild in Art to produce this high-quality, meaningful, and innovative event that makes a difference. Their global brand and events have enabled more than £10million to be raised for charitable causes to date and helped millions of people of all ages to experience art by making it a part of everyday life. Wild in Art events are hugely popular wherever they take place!

The Creative Learning Programme will enable hundreds of people to learn about conservation and experience the importance of creativity both within school and also the wider community as part of the main event. Schools and colleges will adopt and design their own smaller ‘young gorillas’ whilst engaging in an island wide programme, learning all about gorillas and the work at Durrell. Go Wild Gorillas will also give community groups the opportunity to work with local artists to create their own young gorilla. These designs will have their own ‘shop window’ trail before returning to live permanently with their adopted school or community group
